Cosmetics Policy


It is very important that you are aware that used cosmetics can cause some serious health and safety concerns because cosmetic products and relevant applicators are used to apply direct contact with the body. This is why we generally do not allow the sale/re-sale of used cosmetics on BNSBids.


It is your responsibility to comply with your country/state requirements if you are selling cosmetics products, You must also comply with other national requirements in the countries/states you sell these products too.
Remember: One cosmetic product may be okay to sell in your home country/state but in other countries/states that same cosmetic product may be illegal.



The following is permitted:

Brand new cosmetic products.



The following is restricted:

Used cosmetic brushes can be sold but must be thoroughly cleaned and mentioned in the description.

Opened/unsealed cosmetics that are unused, as long as the seller clearly states in the description that the container has been opened but not used.

Homemade cosmetics must comply with government laws and regulations.

The below-prohibited list is not only limited to these, If the cosmetic product is not in the below-prohibited list, we also encourage you (the seller) to check your country/state local laws and regulations for the information you require if unsure do not list the cosmetic product on BNSBids at all.

Products that have passed their expiration or use-by dates.
Products that are not sealed in the original manufacturer's packaging.
Products that have had their packaging altered in such a way that removes or obscures any identifying codes placed on the packaging by the manufacturer or distributor, such as matrix codes, lot numbers or serial numbers.
Products labeled as “tester” products, including perfume testers, or “not intended for resale”.
Counterfeit cosmetics.
Decanted perfumes and fragrances.

Smell-alike perfumes. A smell-alike perfume is a perfume that imitates or tries to reproduce the scent of a branded perfume (“original fragrance”). Among other things, It is forbidden to:

  • Perfume that is not that original fragrance but uses the name and brand of an original fragrance in the product description.
  • Describe perfume as “similar to an original fragrance.
  • Give a name to the perfume that sounds similar to that of an original fragrance.
  • Making clams, answering to customer messages or comments and referring to an original fragrance.
  • Referring to perfume this is the same or similar to the original perfume.
  • Using images/pictures of original perfume that promoting or claim to be the same or similar to the original perfume.
Products that require a prescription or that should only be purchased from a registered pharmacist
Regulated ingredients exceed a maximum limit (for example, teeth whitening products containing or releasing more than 0.1% hydrogen peroxide)
Products that contain any of the prohibited ingredients or that do not comply with the restrictions of the regulation
Products containing colorants, preservatives, and UV filters that are prohibited
Products whose claims do not comply with applicable laws and regulations,
Misleading product characteristics or functions to consumers
Products or ingredients that have been tested on animals
Products prohibited on the advice of governmental agencies
Listings claiming that a product is intended to be used for the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment or prevention of disease in humans or animals
Products that contain or claim to contain snake oil
Henna products which are applied to the skin, unless entirely natural
Cosmetics that contain ingredients derived from endangered species, such as sharks, whales, dolphins or porpoises
Eyelash and eyebrow conditioners containing Bimatoprost
Skin creams containing mercury
products which do not contain labeling on the product
Eye makeup containing Kohl, Kajal, Al-Kahl or Surma

Used cosmetics, sponges, or applicators are not allowed. such as:

  • Skin moisturizers.
  • Sunscreens.
  • Perfumes.
  • Lipsticks.
  • Fingernail polishes.
  • Eye and facial makeup preparations.
  • Shampoos.
  • Permanent waves.
  • Hair colors.
  • Toothpaste.
  • Deodorants.

    Note: Sellers who list prohibited items or content can have their selling permissions removed, either temporarily or permanently.
