Medical Device Policy
For medical devices/products in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
As you should know (if you have read our Terms of Use) our website and services are intended solely for users who are at least (18) years of age or older therefore should be responsible enough to understand if you are allowed to sell the medical device or not.
medical devices/products that require a prescription are not allowed to be sold on BNSBids. For other medical devices/products that can be sold sellers must comply with labeling requirements, packaging and instructions For Use. All listings and medical devices/products must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Seller may only offer domestic shipping, shipping internationally is not allowed.
- Selling medical devices/products in the course of business requires a “Business” account and depending on your selling activity may require a store.
- Selling medical devices/products that you know longer use and that you own the medical devices/products require's a “Personal” account.
Before listing any medical device be sure to check you are legally allowed to sell such medical devices/products on BNSBids.
Note: If the information you need is not listed on this page, you are responsible for conducting your own research regarding the medical device you plan to list and sell.

These Requirements below are based on the efforts you need to follow when listing any medical devices/products on BNSBids. for example, we do not allow product pictures or descriptions that do not represent the actual medical device for sale are not allowed. |
Details of the Medical Device:
- The title of the medical device must be used as the listing title.
- The main description must be clear, accurate, and not false or misleading.
- It must state in the listing description if the medical device is Used, Opened, or New
- Used or opened; It must state in the description that the medical device has been cleaned and handled in accordance with the manufacturers instructions and if sterile seller must state in the description the method of sterilization.
- The description must clearly state the expiration date and the product must reach the buyer before the expiration date.
- medical devices/products must NOT be altered in any way that changes the performance or safety specifications of the device
- Seller may only offer post domestically.
- If applicable, UKCA/CE mark and the number of the Approved Body.
Pictures of the medical devices/products:
- Pictures must be in focus with a well-lit background.
- Pictures must not show objects visible in the background.
- Pictures must show different angles of the product.
- Pictures must be up to date.
- Pictures must be of the actuarial medical device for sale.
- Pictures must not contain added text, graphics, or edits.
It will help if sellers can provide a picture showing the UKCA/CE mark and the number of the Approved Body on the device(s)

You are allowed to list the following:
- Over-the-counter (OTC) medical devices/products. Only in our Health & Beauty > Health & Hygiene Care Categories.
- For collectible medical devices/products, sellers must state in the description that it's not intended for use.
- For antique/vintage medical devices/products, sellers must state in the description that it's not intended for use.

If your healthcare practitioner has provided you with any medical device on/by prescription, you are not allowed to sell the medical device on BNSBids. We encourage you to contact your healthcare practitioners and let them know if you no longer need such a prescription medical device, it should be returned. |
The following is Restricted:
Some healthcare, lab & dental medical devices/products can only be sold with government authorization, for those that are, sellers can only list these medical devices/products in our Business, Supplies & Equipment > Healthcare, Lab & Dental categories.
For some medical devices/products in the UK-NI, EU may require sellers to include a disclaimer in their description. if so, the seller must provide the disclaimer.
A copy of the following statement:
- This medical device may be subject to regulation by the UK-NI, EU and local agencies. If regulated, do not buy or bid on this medical device unless you are an authorized purchaser.
- If the medical device is regulated by the UK-NI, EU I will verify your status as an authorized purchaser before shipping the medical device.
The Opticians Act 1989 (Section 27) restricts the sale and supply of optical appliances to registered optometrists, dispensing opticians, and medical practitioners.
The following is Prohibited:

- Used medical devices/products that have not been cleaned thoroughly.
- Silicone implants.
- Products intended to restrain the movement of a person with a disability, dementia or other medical condition.
- Contact lenses, including cosmetic lenses without a prescription.
- Devices that claim to predict the gender of unborn babies. See our Product Claims Policy.
- Zappers.
- Catheters.
- Cancer-related advertising or products including: treatment, prescribing a remedy, or providing advice is not allowed at all. See the- Cancer Act 1939, in Section 4 – (1) - This also applies to all seller (and buyer comments) irrespective of the country/state.
- Orthopaedic nails and plates.
- Intra-aortic balloon pumps.
- Electronic acupuncture.
- Eye electromagnets.
- Surgical equipment. (Not all are prohibited, Contact us with the following details about your Surgical equipment)
- Incubators.
- Blood warmers.
- Surgical Lasers.
- Ultrasound devices for diagnostic purposes.
- X-Ray sources.

medical devices/products sold in the EU and EEA must meet strict product safety and health requirements. The manufacturer must apply CE marking. Importers must ensure that the manufacturer carries out the CE marking correctly.
